The SCA in Alaska
For the past year, I have been working with The Student Conservation Association, traveling around the country to document some of the amazing work young people are doing in our nation’s most cherished lands. This latest project has been the most exciting yet, as they sent me all the way to Alaska!
I landed in Anchorage with a rough itinerary, knowing I would have to be in Denali National Park the following day. What I didn’t realize was I needed to meet the trail team around 7am before they headed out for the day’s work. After a quick introduction at the regional office, I immediately hit the road and set out by myself on what ended up being one of my greatest and most rewarding adventures thus far.
By the end of two weeks, I had been all over mainland Alaska and even ended up going above the Arctic Circle to the remote Native Alaskan village of Anaktuvuk Pass. I met some incredible people along the way and will remember this experience for the rest of my life.
Here are some photos I took along the way.
