And the Emmy goes to…

I am beyond thrilled, incredibly humbled, and so honored to share that my work with the Grotto Network documenting the work of Humane Borders has won an Emmy!

It was such a privilege to be able to help tell the story of the work being done along the border in Tuscon, AZ. To quote one of the subjects of the piece, "The biggest thing the world lacks is compassion. I'd like people to understand that we're all migrants..." The point being that we all have more in common than we probably realize, and I do my best to tell stories through that perspective.

While the ceremony would normally be in person, this year’s was done virtually due to the pandemic. I would have loved to attend, but instead we were able to have a little fun at home, dressing up, watching the live stream, and popping a bottle of champagne.

Thank you so much to the Chicago / Midwest chapter for the honor, to the Grotto Network for the opportunity, and to Humane Borders for the work they do and letting me help spread their message. And thank you to my incredible wife, whose love and support makes this career possible for me. I'm so grateful for the opportunities to tell this and other stories and am so eager to get back out in the field to help tell many more.

Check out the Emmy-winning piece, if you haven’t already!
